Disaster Days - the new CD from Knights of Crisis

Two Days Gone
Drilling

Sometimes you're wrong, sometimes you're right
It's all your point of view but it's just not worth the fight
It's not just physical, but matters of the heart
It's been so long I don't even know where to start

Now it's been two days gone, and I'm still lovin' you
Two days gone, but I don't want you back
Two days gone, and I'm still lovin' you
Two days gone... I don't want you back

Last night was crazy as you make it out to be
Just focus on the good things and you'll see
Shun negativity - it will cleanse your soul
The glass is not half empty; it's half full

Two days gone, and I'm still lovin' you
Two days gone, but I don't want you back
Two days gone, and I'm still lovin' you
Two days gone... I don't want you back

It's another late night starin' at the screen
Thinkin' 'bout what I would rather be
It's getting clearer, things won't ever be the same
Sometimes this life we live makes us go insane

Now it's been two days gone, and I'm still lovin' you
Two days gone, but I don't want you back
Two days gone, and I'm still lovin' you
Two days gone... I don't want you back

Disaster Days
Miller, Blaney, Drilling, Dougan, Lied, Marmion

I woke up this morning, alarm clock didn't go off
Hit my head on the table lookin for my socks
Dog left me a present, something stinky, brown and wet
Morning's barely started, how worse could this day get?
Next I'm runnin' late and I can't find my keys
Ripped a hole in my pants while searchin' on my knees
Finally found the keys but my wallets gone without a trace
Hit the road, raced to work, but lost my parkin' space

They was Disaster Days... Disaster Days
When your whole world is broken, and your mind is in a haze
You know we're talkin bout - Disaster Days

In to work by 8:15, too bad it starts at 8:00
Boss must be stalking me, docked again for being late
Grabbed a cup of coffee, started glaring at the screen
Nodded off and bumped my drink, spilled on my machine
Can't believe I said those things, like thunder in the night
Barking dog was much too close, so now I'll feel that bite
My baby said get home early, but the boss made me work late
Jumped in the car, head down the road, but the red lights sealed my fate

They was Disaster Days... Disaster Days
When your whole world is broken, and your mind is in a haze
You know we're talkin bout - Disaster Days

By the time that I got home, all I found was a note
“I’m off to stay with my mother” was what that woman wrote
Thank the lord for small favors, I’m headin off to the bar
But first I gotta get a spare tire to fix the flat that’s on my car
Finally got to the bar, but they won’t let me run a tab
Car won’t start, I’m out luck and I can’t find a cab
So I’m walk home, and of course it’s startin’ rain
Blue lights are a comin’ the police wanna talk with me again

They was Disaster Days... Disaster Days
When your whole world is broken, and your mind is in a haze
You know we're talkin bout - Disaster Day

Zamboni (Machine) Driver
Blaney, Raistrick, Miller, Drilling

Yeah, I'm gonna take my time, gonna do it right
Gonna make that surface shine
Wanna be the one there behind the wheel
Crossing over that penalty line
Lady I'm your Zamboni driver
Gonna make it all cool and clean
Maybe I'm your Zamboni driver
For the time you've got in between

Zamboni, Zamboni, Zamboni, Zamboni

Well your game moves fast and I must admit
You've been going offside all night
If I play a high stick do you think I should
Slip into the box tonight?
Lady I'm your Zamboni driver
Gonna make it all cool and clean
Maybe I'm your Zamboni driver
For the time you've got in between

Zamboni, Zamboni, Zamboni, Zamboni

And after I blow that twenty minute horn
I'm gonna do it all over again
Gonna steam it all up wanna smooth it down
Gonna fire up my motor and then...
Lady I'm your Zamboni driver
Gonna make it all cool and clean
Maybe I'm your Zamboni driver
For the time you've got in between

Zamboni, Zamboni, Zamboni, Zamboni

Deception Pass
Dougan

You took a ride to Deception Pass. I found you out there smokin' grass
Sayin’ words that really, really don't make sense
At Deception Pass dark waters flow -- beneath the surface and who's to know
What's really goin' on down under there
At Deception Pass you best not blunder; lest the darkness churn and drag you under
And you'll die before you know what took you down

You say you're travelin' but here you are - guzzlin whiskey at the bar
Telling stories 'bout things I know you never have done
You say you're out, but to count you in; that money’s short, but your rich as sin
That your old lady hates us, but she sure digs our sound
I've 'bout had it with your lies; with your lame excuses and alibis
Time to come clean or we are at an end

You're hiding something that much is clear, but what it is I can only fear
You don't talk about your demons really well
Can't name the monkey on your back. Don't know if its booze or cards or smack
But I see it killin' you before my eyes
Salvation's just twelve steps away, but you went up those stairs on another day
Like Jack and Jill you came tumblin' back down

You took a ride to Deception Pass. I found you out there smokin' grass
Sayin words that really - really don't make sense
At Deception Pass dark waters flow -- beneath the surface and who's to know
What's really goin' on down under there
At Deception Pass you best not blunder; lest the darkness churn and drag you under
And you'll die before you know what took you down

And when your body washes up on shore
I'll sing this song just a little more
And tell the world how I lost my friend

Aliens Ate My Car
Miller

Well I was driving down the road, listening to the radio,
on my way to see you baby.
Then I saw some bright flashing lights comin up behind me
Thinking it was the police, I pulled over, when suddenly
I found myself transported onto an alien space ship

On this spaceship... there was this beautiful she-alien,
and she was most interested in my um... cologne.
But I told her that my love was meant only just for you darlin
Well that She-alien was not happy, and she started calling for a probe...

I know this may sound a bit bizarre
How I found my way to this here bar
Now I do remember just who you are
And how those aliens ate my car

Then the most amazing thing happened...
I coughted, the aliens got dizzy, and that space ship fell to the ground...
No Honey, it's what really happened... I know I didn’t call
The aliens used some plasma-ray thing and they stopped all the phones from working'

I know this may sound a bit bizarre
How I found my way to this here bar
Now I do remember just who you are
And how those aliens ate my car

You shoulda seen the big blue one: he has this giant ginzoo knife
And he took that knife and cut up the glass, the upholstery...
Man he just shredded the car -- he did the bumpers and everything
He handed it out to all the aliens and they ate the whole thing up.
They said "mmmmm, tastes like sushi!". That's right!

Oh my goodness, and then they got in this big circle and started to doing the alien dance
That's what happened, yeah... And they started going "whoooo"
That's right, the aliens dancing, they went "whoooo"
No, I'm not makin' this up... they went "whoooo"
And then, yeah that was after they ate the car

I really do love you, but they ate the car

After All (Still Cool)
Miller

Cruisin’ down on Soldiers Field Road
An old friend called and a story she told.
She said Beacon Hill beckoned, I was minutes maybe seconds,
Or perhaps she spoke a diff’rent area code.

After all it’s not the friends you fool.
After all it’s not about other kids at school.
After all we’re still cool.

Tried the scene down by Fenway Park.
The old folks there had some wise remarks.
Memorial Drive could be a bit more tame,
But against the wind just won’t be the same.

Well after all it’s not the friends you fool.
After all it’s not about other kids at school.
After all we’re still cool.

Forget the fashions out on Old Silver Beach.
Tell ‘em ‘bout the passion that makes you reach.
Respect and honesty are the working rule.
Responsibility is your jewel.

Cruisin’ down on Soldiers’ Field Road
An old friend called and a story she told.
She said Beacon Hill beckons, it was minutes maybe seconds,
Or perhaps she spoke a diff’rent area code.

After all it's not about the friends you fool
After all it’s not about other kids at school.
After all we’re still cool.

No Tequila
Miller

It started as a simple rivalry, her affection would go to either him or me
To end our fight we chose an alcohol duel, tequila firewater was to be our fuel
Oh no, no tequila no more, beer of wine that be better
Oh no don't you pour, pour, pour
Give me something else to forget her

Salt with lime to start, but then straight shots, we were cross-eyed fools across the table
Sometime later we slumped to the floor, I would have gotten up if I was able
Oh no, no tequila no more, beer of wine that be better
Oh no don't you pour, pour, pour
Give me something else to forget her

To make me dumb give me 151, I’ll stay here for another beer
It’s no sin to down the gin, Tell the truth vodka vermouth,
I could sink to almost any drink, but I can’t drink that tequila no more
Oh no, no tequila no more, beer of wine that be better
Oh no don't you pour, pour, pour
Give me something else to forget her

I awoke much later wonderin’ where, my lady friend she's no longer there
I may have won the battle, but I lost the war, and I can’t drink that tequila no more
Oh no, no tequila no more, beer or wine that be better
Oh no don't you pour, pour, pour,
Give me something else to forget her
Oh no, no tequila no more, beer or wine that be better
Oh no don't you pour, pour, pour,
Give me something else to forget her
I can’t drink that tequila no more.

Not Enough to Call
Dougan, Lied

It's going on three years now since the last time that we spoke
You used to call me lover but that's all gone up in smoke
Funny how life changes, how winter comes from fall
I think about you all the time but not enough to call

It's safe to say back in the day that we were livin' fast
Party'in from dusk till dawn we figured love would last
I guess we were the last to see the writing on the wall
I think about you all the time but not enough to call

I'd like to say that I recall when you walked out of that door
But as you know I spent that evening passed out on the floor
Wish I would have known that we were headed for a fall
I think about you all the time but not enough to call

They tell life goes on and it gets better if you try
But in my darkest hours I know that it's a lie
Still I'm clean and sober and I'm tryin' to stand tall
I think about you all the time but I'm just afraid to call

It's going on three years now since the last time that we spoke
You used to call me lover but that's all gone up in smoke
Funny how life changes, how winter comes from fall
I think about you all the time but babe...why won't you call?

Long Way to Heaven
Drilling

Who you runnin' from, I know... it can’t be me
Who you hidn’ from, you know... that they can see
Who you hangn’ with, I know, I’ve seen that face before
You’re not really myself, when you’re thru their door

It’s a long way to heaven, and it’s a long way down
Yeah, it’s a long way down

Got your common sense I know, but is it on the shelf?
I can’t help you you know, can’t even help myself
Who you speakn’ with do you know if they have something to say?
I’m not goin’ down that road again, least not today

It’s a long way to heaven, and it’s a long way down
Yeah, it’s a long way down
Yeah, it’s a long way down

Not always satisfied I know, with the path you take
There’s a shadow you know, we just can’t shake
Prices to be paid you know, or you can beg and borrow
I’m not goin’ down that road again, least not tomorrow

It’s a long way to heaven, and it’s a long way down
Yeah, it’s a long way down
Yeah, it’s a long way down
Yeah, it’s a long way down

Tiny Shards
Raistrick

Empty niches once held them
Up high for people now, that would come there
To meditate. They said,
"Take down the gods and infidels"
Blew them to pieces child
Not a one could be saved
They cried, "Ooooo..."
Gonna build it up, from the bottom up again now
Oooooo gotta build it up, cause we all rise and fall together

Tiny Shards littered ground below
The basic shapes are there
But the rest they carried away
Laying claim to the pieces there
Searching high and low
For the devil's dusty day
Oooooo... Gonna build it up, from the bottom up again now
Oooooo... gonna build it up, cause we all rise and fall together

In another dozen years it doesn't matter
It'll be forgotten then
But if we put our hearts and minds together
See how we shine. See Howie Schein.

Still rattles round there with falling rocks
Amid destruction
She still finds it devine there
Some want toleave it the way it is
as a testament
to a crime, but I say "no!"
Oooooo... Gonna build it up, from the bottom up again now
Oooooo... gonna build it up, cause we all rise and fall together
Cause we all rise... It's workin' out let's put it together
Don't forget how much your hands matter.

Pure Lies
Miller

She came into the room, a light too strong to fight
I lit another a candle and drew the curtains tight
The clocks were running early, she’s always running late
Another lonely evening was soon to be my fate
Then I looked into her eyes, and all I saw was pure… pure lies

You said your piece now get out, I know you are that way
But there’s a time and place for everything and this is not that day
You may not know the difference; with dawn breaking everywhere
But I’ve grown old in my time and will not curse the glare
Then I looked into your eyes, and all I saw was pure… pure lies

I heard the dog a barking, the children said their grace
And all that I could think of was that look upon her face
I felt a freeze a comin’, a touch I’d feel no more
I straightened out my suit and headed for the door
Then I looked into a mirror, and all I saw was pure… pure lies

Tell me doctor, doctor how can anything be so mean
To take away the love and kindness of all that breathes so clean
She said that she would love me, but did not say ‘til when
Who could ever dream that forever would ever have an end
Doctor please give me a prescription: a cure for pure, pure lies

They said it was an accident, the evidence was clear.
I could not be convicted by a jury of my peers.
Now I walk alone, not in a prison cell,
And contemplate the life I took in my own private hell.
Then I remember her eyes and those pure, pure lies.

Backside Jesus
Blaney

Sometimes in life, you plan away
Some grand design that slips away
But it's OK; just another day
But Jesus got your backside, so the rest can fade away

Sometimes in life you're at the bar
You're smokin' up life's big cigar
But it's too far to the whiskey jar
But Jesus got your backside, no matter where you are

Sometimes in life, you'll feel the pain
That bends you over... in the pourin' rain
you feel insane: same old refrain
Jesus got your backside, again and again.

Sometimes in life, you will agree
It all makes sense if it sets you free
John 3:16. It happened to me
But Jesus got your backside, and the rest of me

Jesus got your backside, and the rest of me
Jesus got your backside, and the rest of me
Jesus got your backside, and the rest of me.
